A pair of the best offensive performers in college football will be on display when Tre Stewart and the Jacksonville State Gamecocks (6-3) take on Eric Rivers and the Florida International Panthers (3-6) on Saturday, November 16, 2024.
In their most recent game, the Gamecocks won 44-37 over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The Panthers’ last game was a 34-13 win over the New Mexico State Aggies. In that matchup with the Bulldogs, Tyler Huff had 200 yards on 14-of-31 passing (45.2%) for the Gamecocks, with two touchdowns and one interception. He also carried the ball 17 times for 42 yards and one rushing touchdown. Stewart rushed for 166 yards on 34 carries (4.9 yards per carry) and two touchdowns, adding one reception for 15 yards. Cam Vaughn hauled in seven receptions for 130 yards (averaging 18.6 per catch), while scoring two touchdowns against the Bulldogs. Keyone Jenkins put up 338 passing yards while going 18-for-27 with four touchdowns and no interceptions for the Panthers against the Aggies. He added six carries for 27 yards. Kejon Owens carried the ball 13 times for 39 yards. He caught one pass for eight yards. Rivers caught 11 passes on 14 targets for 295 yards (26.8 yards per reception), and scored three touchdowns.
