The Colorado Buffaloes begin Year 2 of the Deion Sanders era home at Folsom Field on Thursday, August 29 against the North Dakota State Bison.
Coach Prime and the Buffs went just 4-8 last season, getting off to a hot start but ultimately fading in conference play thanks to issues on the defensive side of the ball.
Sanders went to work completely rebuilding the team via the transfer portal over the offseason, in particular focusing on improving the offensive line to protect his star quarterback – and son – Shedeur Sanders.
Whether the offseason moves translate to more success on the field will be tested for the first time against a Bison team that is ranked second among FCS programs under new head coach Tim Polasek.
Currently Colorado is 10 point favorites, a relatively thin margin for a team looking to make a bowl game in its first year as a member of the Big 12.
Below are five key things to watch for in this matchup, which kicks off at 8:00 PM ET.
