After three weeks of college football action, the true contenders have begun separating themselves from the pretenders, and it has yielded some unexpected results.
A preseason top ten team in Florida State is 0-3, with all three losses coming to unranked opponents, while a top five team in Notre Dame suffered a loss to MAC opponent Northern Illinois.
While there is still plenty of action to come, already some head coaches are feeling their seats getting warmer and warmer. Some, like Billy Napier at Florida and Dave Aranda at Baylor, were feeling the warmth before the season even began, while others are in uncharted territory after rough starts.
